GRYFFIN SCARF … FREE CROCHET PATTERN

With Halloween quickly approaching and my little one dressing up as Harry Potter, I had to make a matching scarf … I mean, what kind of mother would I be … better yet, what kind of Harry Potter fan would I be, if I did not dress up a bit myself?  This scarf was perfect!!!  I, of course, created it using Gryffindor-inspired colors (my preferred Hogwarts house); however, this scarf is so versatile.  It can be created in your favorite colors or  in your favorite team colors to show off your team spirit.  Better yet, it is super simple and works up so fast!!!

So … without further ado, below is the free crochet pattern …  enjoy!

Repeat rows 15-35 four times.  This will result in a scarf that is approximately 48″ long.  If you would like a longer scarf, simply repeat rows 15-35 five times instead of four.  Adding an extra repetition will increase the length of the scarf by approximately 8″.  (Adding additional repetitions will increase the amount of yarn needed.)

After the desired repetitions have been completed, continue crocheting with the following 4 rows.

  • MC – (Ch 2 = 1st dc)  Complete 1 dc/st in each of the 2nd – 20th st.  (20)  Ch 2 and turn.
  • MC – (Ch 2 = 1st dc)  Complete 1 dc/st in each of the 2nd – 20th st.  (20)  Ch 2 and turn.
