The Wreath Christmas Ornament is approximately 2.5″ in diameter.  It can be created larger by simply using a larger crochet hook and/or thicker weight yarn.  Since very little yarn is necessary, the Christmas ornaments are perfect for using up all of your “left-over” yarn!  Let’s get started …

To create the ornament, the following materials are necessary:  G crochet hook, medium weight yarn (2 different colors), yarn needle (to weave in ends), and scissors.

Directions:

Rnd 1:  MC – Ch 12.  Sl st with the 1st ch to join.

Rnd 4:  MC – Ch 15.  Sl st into the 1st st threading in the back loop only to create the hanging loop.  Complete 1 hdc/st in each of the 2nd – 31st st threading through back loop only.  Complete 1 hdc and 1 sl st in the 32nd st threading through back loop only.  Knot to end.  Trim strands, weaving them into the back of the wreath.

Rnd 5:  CC – With CC yarn, sl st on to the left of the hanging loop (ch 15).  Complete 1 sl st/st around the rnd until the right side of the hanging loop.  Knot to end.  Trim strands, weaving them into the back of the wreath.

Cut a piece of CC yarn.  Thread strands onto the wreath and tie a bow.
